Grey interiour with red (2121) or blue (2122) striping.
This is the first interiour that had been designed for the 480. It was available in the following modelyears: 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989. The cloth interiour was always supplied with red striping, except when you ordered a Petrol-Blue Metallic 480. The striping would then be blue.
Leather interiour (2320).
The leather interiour was first put on the accessories-list in 1988 and has been available untill the end of production. A Leather interiour was included in the GT-packages in 1994 and 1995. When ordering a leather interiour not only were the chairs covered with leather, also the inside-doorpanels and dashboard were fitted with pieces of leather where normally pieces of cloth would be present. It wasn't until 1993 that Volvo decided to add head-supports for the rear-passengers.
Grey Multicolor Velours interiour (2423).
The Grey Multicolor Velours interiour was the follow-up of the old Grey interiour with red or blue striping. This interiour was last available in modelyear 1993.
The Two-Tone interiour (2827).
This is the interiour which was specially designed for the Two-Tone. It was partly leather and partly cloth. The sitting and back-support area were covered with cloth and the sides and back of the chairs were covered with leather to make it look really luxurios. This interiour was only available when you ordered a Two-Tone model in 1992.
The Jacquard/Leather interiour (2143).
The Jacquard/Leather interiour was partly velours / partly leather interiour. Just like the Two-Tone interiour the parts of the chair where you sit and that support your back are covered with velours, which will give more grip when steering through sharp bends. Also the front- and back headsupports were covered with velours. Another benefit from not sitting on leather is that you will nog stick to the leather when wearing shorts in the summer. The sides and back of the chairs are covered with leather. This Jacquard/Leather interiour was available in 1994 and 1995.
Volvo-museum Cabrio interior.
Just like the 480 Cabrio, this interior was never taken into production. A sad thing because this black and white two-tone leather interior looks wonderful! So if one day you plan to turn your Volvo 480 into a 480 Cabrio you could give the seats an amazing look taking this interior as an example!
The Grand Turismo (GT) leather interior in the United Kingdom (2321).
British like to be different from the rest of the European continent, they still have Pounds, drive on the left side of the road, and somehow had to have a different interior in the GT than the rest of Europe. This interior is a two-tone leather interior where the brighter colour is covered with colourful blocks. Only 250 GT's were ever sold in the UK which makes this a very rare interior!
The Paris interiour (2326).
In the early nineties Volvo introduced the colour 318, Paris Blue Metallic. To celebrate the arrival of this new colour they launched a special version: the Volvo 480 'Paris'. You can recognise this version from the outside by the green striping on the bumpers and side-strips instead of the normal black striping. The interior of the 'Paris'-model is a two-tone leather interior (green and darkgrey).
The 'Sports' interior (2720).
March 27th 1992 Volvo announced the introduction of a 480-edition with the name 'Sports'. This edition would be available with either a full-cloth 'Tweed' interior (2720) or with a velours/imitation-leather interior (2827). This second interior is probably the same interior you will find in the Two-Tone 480. The interior is pretty rare and has perhaps only been available in Germany.
Beige leather interior.
Only a few Volvo 480 were build with United States specifications, these had a beige interior. This is the leather beige interior, extremely rare! It would be impossible to get replacement-parts for the interior so be gentle to the interior if you have one.
Beige velours interior.
Hans Blokzijl is a well known Volvo enthusiast. He owns an extremely rare Volvo 480 with a beige velours interior which he saved from being destructed by Volvo.
Collection leather interior (2346).
The leather in a Collection (German limited edition) and in a Celebration (UK limited edition) is a bit differant than the standard full-leather interior. The material seems gentler and softer and the panels in the doors are covered with wrinkled leather. It was also available for other models in 1995, but you had to pay extra for it.
